Dear National and International Donors,
I, Kong Vorn, the co-founder and initiator of Cambodia-Japan Friendship Middle and High School (CJFS) and also the founder of Cambodia Education Assistance Fund (CEAF), and all staffs of CEAF would like to make an appeal to all of you, especially to Japanese donors, to financially contribute to build a guest house called Cambo dia-Japan Friendship Guest House on CJFS campus located in Ling village, Anga Reach commune, Preah Sdach district, Prey Veng province.
Due to the lack of appropriate accommodation for foreign volunteers and visitors who come to CJFS, it is a major reason that urges all of us, the management team of CEAF, to ask for previous students’ and their parents’, all levels of the people’s and your supports. This support will be contributed to construct the whole building which contains of 5 rooms on ground floor, 5 rooms on the 1st floor, and kitchen and dining room on the top floor.
Each room has 2 beds, sized 4 m×5 m with 2.85 heights, a bathroom and a toilet inside. The size of each bathroom is 1.30 m× 2.45 m. This guest house costs 62, 344.09 USD.
These days, we, the board of CJFS and CEAF received 63, 000 USD funds from National donors, former CJFS students and their parents, current students of CJFS, especially from Japanese donors who always support us 25 years until now, and new Japanese donors as well. We needs about 6800 USD more to cover the price on materials used in the 10 rooms such as beds, bed linens, pillows, towels, tables, chairs, heat water machines, washing machines, and air conditionings.
Remarkably, this guest house will have been built successfully by the end of March followed by the engineer expectation signed on the construction contract.
As our observation, today, most of Cambodian people have eaten fruit and vegetables such as Cabbages, Black cabbages, Gourds, Broccolis, Cucumbers, Pumpkins, Bok-Choy, etc., which contain a lot of chemical substances that farmers have used to grow their plants and enable them to produce a lot of amount of food in very short term to supply to market.
According to agricultural specialists, using over limitation of chemical substances in vegetable and food can cause seriously dangerous to people health such as causing severe illness that is hard to recovery.
Therefore, I, Kong Vorn, the founder of Cambodia-Japan Friendship School have agreed with a major donor and have suggested him to find us the agricultural specialists in order to conduct an experiment to grow varieties of vegetables by using natural fertility from animals` manure on CJFS campus. By doing this, we hope to reduce the risk of having chemical vegetables in daily food of Cambodian people.
This project will engage teachers and all students of CJFS to the learning and practicing, which they will be trained by Japanese specialists. If this experiment is achieved as we expected, management team will sell some of products to the market. Some money is handed to support our staffs working in this project and some is used to promote education factor.
This modern agricultural planning has been conducted for nearly 2 months by having a deep well, a medium size of pond, and hundreds trucks of soil filled into the lower land, and a small agricultural machine.
In the nearest future, our key donors will provide a 5 m× 15 m building with Zinc roof, a big modern bathroom suite, and a landfill site to CJFS.
On behalf of the founder, management teams, and all staffs of CEAF, I strongly hope that our national and international donors as well as the former students of CJFS, including all current students and their parents will cooperate forward with us.
